Our top layer of skin, which is an ingenious evolutionary system of constantly replicating fresh new skin cells to replace dead and shedding skin cells, is where the appearance of healthy skin lies.
During the winter, colder temperatures and indoor heating suck the water out of our top layer of skin, making the appearance of our skin less healthy.

Hold your colored fingertips over the clothing you are wearing.
See if they like each other.
Some colors make other colors look more vibrant, and some just seem off.
Trust your visceral judgment and go with what makes you smile.

Skin tone intensity (light to dark)
Hair color, intensity (light to dark), and length.

This is the given set of circumstances of your organic palette. It is advantageous to understand your organic palette as it relates to your intended makeup effect.
