‘The grass is always greener where you water it.’ CS
Our top layer of skin, which is an ingenious evolutionary system of constantly replicating fresh new skin cells to replace dead and shedding skin cells, is where the appearance of healthy skin lies.
During the winter, colder temperatures and indoor heating suck the water out of our top layer of skin, making the appearance of our skin less healthy.
The trick is to keep water from evaporating out of the top layer of skin.
Here are 3 solutions to do just that.
Solution #1: Hyaluronic Acid
Hyaluronic acid are cells that absorb up to 1,000 times their weight and size in water. They exist mostly in the joints of our body to keep joints lubricated and moist.
A topical layer of hyaluronic acid applied to our skin before moisturizer will keep the water already in our skin and retain water from your moisturizer. This is a brilliant concept for healthy looking skin.
Enriched w/ Sodium Hyaluronate, Collagen and Retinoids, this emollient serum hydrates the skin leaving it soft and supple, while Anti-oxidants and soy proteins help protect against environmental damage. Size: .5 fl. oz. (15 g)
Cruelty free | Paraben free | Sulfate free | Gluten free Recommended for: All skin types. Made in USA
Solution #2: Exfoliation
Winter kills off surface skin cells faster. A surface of dead skin cells leaves the skin appearing ashy.
To avoid this, gently exfoliate weekly to remove the surface dead skin cells and reveal the fresh and healthy looking ones underneath. Exfoliation, merely by the fact that it speeds up the shedding of dead skin cells, encourages skin to produce more healthy fresh skin cells which increase the appearance of healthy skin.
Gives skin a professional, spa-like exfoliating facial. Contains microdermabrasion scrub that safely and efficiently removes dead skin cells leaving a silky smooth texture that is ready to welcome rejuvenating new skin cells. Size: 3.0 fl. oz. (85 ml) Cruelty free | Paraben free | Sulfate free | Gluten free Recommended for: All skin types. Made in USA
Solution #3: Mist ++
A simple spritz of water will refresh the appearance of surface dry skin. Unfortunately as it evaporates it takes moisture in your skin with it, making skin even drier than before.
A mist++ packed with humectants (moisture seeking natural extracts) not only refreshes skin, it attracts and holds onto moisture. This keeps surface skin more hydrated, can be used anytime, even over makeup, and promotes an essential oil sense of wellbeing.
A refreshing mist with natural extracts that soothe and soften the skin. Instantly rehydrates and refreshes all skin types and aids in restoring tone and elasticity as well as setting makeup. Use throughout the day as needed. Size: 4 fl. oz. (118 ml)
Cruelty free | Paraben free | Sulfate free | Gluten free Recommended for: All skin types Made in USA

The long forgotten part of our facial anatomy re-emerges. With lips once again naked and exposed, and your old lip color having seen better days/years, here is a tried and true method for getting the right lip color.
Let the color pick you.
Here’s how:
Before putting any color on your lips, put colors you are attracted to on your fingertips.
Next hold your finger over your lips while looking into a mirror.
You will have an instant visceral response to whether this color likes you or not.
Other tests:
Hold your colored fingertips over the clothing you are wearing.
See if they like each other.
Some colors make other colors look more vibrant, and some just seem off.
Trust your visceral judgment and go with what makes you smile.
Now we get to see each other smile again.

“Beware the ides of March” “Nothing is good or bad but thinking makes it so” Shakespeare–Julius Caesar Shakespeare–Hamlet
So what is the ‘Ides of March’ really and should we beware? And if so, how much?
The word “ides” comes from Latin for “in the middle of.” So the ides was the exact middle day of each month.
March was the first month of the year in the Roman calendar and as it took our satellite’s phases into account, the ides always fell on a full moon, which gave it even more supernatural clout.
Unsurprisingly, this was the deadline in the Roman age for paying off one’s debts and settling affairs.
As March Mascara Madness continues at Makeup Gourmet, we pay tribute to this literary reference to an historic Roman superstition on this, the Ides of March.

“…really makes my eyes pop.” Makeup Gourmet Mascara User
The pursuit for the ‘best’ is an unrequited endeavor.
No matter what you may like, is there something better?
This endless loop is highly prevalent with mascara.
Obviously, everyone has unique needs and expected results, and each mascara is designed to fit a particular criteria.
I believe we give mascara too much credit. We expect the mascara to fulfill our lash enhancement needs.
In my experience, a little technique goes a very long way in making any mascara fulfill your lash enhancement needs.
” …glides on smoothly and evenly.” Makeup Gourmet Mascara User
In that light, the more straightforward the mascara formula and wand the better.
Mascara that can be manipulated to do many things is my preference.
As we often are doing a different look for day, night, work play etc, having one mascara that can that can deliver a clean lash, a thick lash, a long lash, a false-lash look, and more, is ideal.
Have you heard about Makeup Gourmet’s mascara? It does all the above and more. All you need is a little technique.
“Definitely my favorite mascara of all time and great value!” Makeup Gourmet mascara user
Before getting to the technique demo videos, here is one piece of advice.
If you want your lashes to curl up, curl them. Although there is merit to some ‘curling’ mascaras, nothing curls lashes like an eyelash curler.
Final note: Always apply mascara last so no powder products float and stick to your lashes diminishing the light reflective finish of fresh mascara. No one wants an ashy lash.
Thank you for reading.

Chris Scott

Makeup Gourmet Chris Scott launches MUGshot Studio’s Performance Video Trailers Studio providing performing art companies a compelling and affordable marketing tool to capture future audience’s attention and curiosity.
SAN FRANCISCO – Feb. 20, 2018 – Makeup Gourmet is proud to announce the launch of it’s new MUGshot Studio performance video trailers studio delivering effective and innovative results for local and national performing arts marketing.
3 proven types of video trailers are suggested for clients. They are artistic, clips, and interviews. A trailer can be specifically one of these three styles and easily a blend depending on the intent of the video trailer.
Having an MA in theater, and creating, producing, and editing his own TV show, Makeup Gourmet, Mr. Scott brings keen expertise to performance company’s marketing goals.
The combination of a performer’s mentality and television production experience is what makes Mr. Scott’s performance video trailers so effective.
“It is often difficult for artists to express their work to others without going into great detail. What they need is third-party objectivity that grasps the intention of their performance and communicates it clearly through short informative marketing video trailers,” Says Scott.
The imperative is that the trailer excites and ignites the viewer’s curiosity. Once accomplished, future audiences take the next step by getting further information from the performance companies website and eventually purchasing tickets.
Scott says, “It is imperative for performers to not want to tell the story in the trailer. The point of good marketing is to get someone to take action.” Compelling performance video trailers do just that.
The needs of the performance company are often immediate. Completed video trailers are promised in a 48-hour turnaround. This enables performance companies to quickly get their word out in a visual way that is appealing and readily consumed by viewers.
Video content is favored by major search engines. Getting a quality video on performance companies website and social media outlets multiplies visibility.
The physical location of MUGshot Studio is San Francisco. Within the Bay Area, video footage taping service is offered along with the making of the trailer. Those from a further geographical location shoot their own footage and have it edited by MUGshot.
Mr. Scott closes with, “Remember, the goal is not to tell the story in the video trailer. The goal is to get audiences to buy a ticket.”
