See, not everybody is out to make a buck on the gay wedding boom expected here. Why is he doing it? Because The Gourmet wants to contribute something in his small way to the good of the cause. Give back. Didn’t your English teacher always say write what you know? In this case, it’s blush what you know. The Gourmet is looking for some celebrity face to powder, too. He’s emailed Ellen DeGeneres and Portia DeRossi, offering to paint them pretty, too, but no luck yet for the newly engaged celebs. Maybe George Takei or some of the other Trekkie has-beens will need a touch-up.

Our top layer of skin, which is an ingenious evolutionary system of constantly replicating fresh new skin cells to replace dead and shedding skin cells, is where the appearance of healthy skin lies.
During the winter, colder temperatures and indoor heating suck the water out of our top layer of skin, making the appearance of our skin less healthy.

Before putting any color on your lips, put colors you are attracted to on your fingertips.
Next hold your finger over your lips while looking into a mirror.
You will have an instant visceral response to whether this color likes you or not.
Other tests:
Hold your colored fingertips over the clothing you are wearing.
See if they like each other.
Some colors make other colors look more vibrant, and some just seem off.
Trust your visceral judgment and go with what makes you smile.

“Beware the ides of March” “Nothing is good or bad but thinking makes it so” Shakespeare–Julius Caesar Shakespeare–Hamlet
So what is the ‘Ides of March’ really and should we beware? And if so, how much?
The word “ides” comes from Latin for “in the middle of.” So the ides was the exact middle day of each month.
March was the first month of the year in the Roman calendar and as it took our satellite’s phases into account, the ides always fell on a full moon, which gave it even more supernatural clout.
Unsurprisingly, this was the deadline in the Roman age for paying off one’s debts and settling affairs.
As March Mascara Madness continues at Makeup Gourmet, we pay tribute to this literary reference to an historic Roman superstition on this, the Ides of March.
