Face with a Heart Makeup Tutorials – EYES: STEP 3- LASH FILLER (UPPER LASH BED EYE LINER)

This week, Makeup Gourmet Chris Scott, continues his
new series of how-to makeup video tutorials. Lash Filler.

lash filler Face with a HeartWhy:

To capture the most authentic shape of every eye.
Regardless of age, the lash line (the line where your
eyelashes either grow or use to grow) captures
absolutely the true shape of the eye. Even as skin
matures and the skin around the eye may change
dramatically, the lash line shape remains intact.
By enhancing the lash line, the eye shape retains
its eternal (youthful) shape and is the most natural looking shape to the observer.

How:

This technique is the truest way to capture the natural shape of every eye.
It is best to use waterproof/non-liquid eye liner for this step. Waterproof so it doesn’t run and nonliquid because the slow-drying nature of a liquid liner doesn’t lend itself well to this technique. The preferred liner is waterproof gel eye liner with a brush or a high quality waterproof pencil.

This week, Makeup Gourmet Chris Scott, continues his
new series of how-to makeup video tutorials. Deposit Technique.

deposit technique illustration

Deposit is a technique for applying powder based products such as eye shadow, translucent powder, powder blush etc  to the face that gives the artist maximum control.

Deposit a thin layer of translucent pressed powder appropriate for the skin tone of the model over the whole eye area where eye shadow base has been applied.

By doing every step of your makeup application in this specific manner, people see less makeup and more you. That is the point, to be authentically beautiful.

Face with a Heart Makeup Application Tutorials – Eye Shadow Base /Corrector/ Primer

This week, Makeup Gourmet Chris Scott, continues his
new series of how-to makeup video tutorials. Eye shadow base, eye corrector and eye primer in one!

blog post eye shadow base tutorial makeup gourmet

Before applying any makeup to the skin, it is important to prep the area to maximize the efficacy and longevity of the eye makeup. The correct eye shadow base provides this service.

When it comes to wearing eye makeup well, there are some natural pitfalls:

• Natural eyelid discoloration can alter the desired color effect
• Constant movement of the eye (blinking) creates creasing of eye makeup
• Natural skin oils can dissolve/crease the eye makeup

Eye shadow base is applied to minimize all of these pitfalls.

The purpose of eye shadow base is to:

• Neutralize discoloration of the eyelid
• Create a brighter appearance to the eyelid
• Support and maintain the true color of the eye makeup
• Prevent creasing, fading of eye makeup

There are many types of eye shadow base (also known as primers) on the market, but the best eye shadow base (also known as primers) on the market, but the best eye shadow base is one that accomplishes all
of the above in one product.

By doing every step of your makeup application in this specific manner, people see less makeup and more you. That is the point, to be authentically beautiful.

Face with a Heart Makeup Application Tutorials – Eyebrows

This week, Makeup Gourmet Chris Scott, introduces the first in a new series of how-to makeup video tutorials. The simplest way to shape your eyebrows – ever!

Face with a Heart Eyebrow tutorialWhen I do someone’s makeup I always start with the eyebrows. It is one of the steps I never skip. There are some core fundamentals to achieve the ‘Face with a Heart’ look, and brows are one of them. Your eyebrows, when you use this method, immediately frame your face better and, if you only had time in the morning to do that one thing, people would still see you better and wouldn’t notice the one piece of makeup on your face.

The Face with a Heart brow technique is shockingly easy. If you can draw two straight lines, then you can maximize your brows quickly and easily.

The face is a curved surface and I find that when you superimpose a straight line onto it you create an optical illusion of lift and energy that still flows with the anatomy of your face. This balances and frames the top part of the heart of your face.

By doing every step of your makeup application in this specific manner, people see less makeup and more you. That is the point, to be authentically beautiful.
